Christmas in the Nursery
Imagine the scene..... the snowflakes are falling softly outside, gently settling on an earlier fall of fluffy whiter-than-white snow. The windows of the houses are softly illuminated by the glow from behind the curtains like millions of gentle glow-worms. The gentle crunching of the freshly fallen snow is
punctuated by the footfall of happy people making their way to share Christmas with friends and loved ones. The houses area filled with the sound of happy family gatherings around tables laden with Christmas fayre. But all is not well.
In the Nurseries of the land War has broken out. The heinous cowboys and Indians are attempting to steal the children's toys before the children return to the nursery after lunch to open their presents. Be not alarmed dear reader, for the
valiant teddy bears are even now, fighting to protect all that is dear and good about family traditions - the presents ...

We have a tradition that the last game before Christmas is 'seasonal' and not terribly serious. This year Chris hosted "Christmas in the nursery" and provided the core equipment, but participants were invited to bring along favourite toys in any scale to join in.
The scenario was run using 'Arguments of War', a mixture of traditional figure- and Matrix-gaming which was ideally suited to its unusual subject matter.

The game was played on the underside of our usual terrain boards, standing in for a wooden floor. We used a wide variety of toys in numerous scales, but particular mention should be made of the superb teddies from Eureka Miniatures, who also supplied the 30mm Guardsman we used for Action Man.

If anyone is interested in playing this one themselves, ask Chris for a copy of the briefings. We won't post them here in case it spoils the surprise.
